IS Systems Analyst (On-Site)

Summary:

NOTE: *This is an on-site position* The Systems Analyst’s role is to ensure reliable performance of the proprietary ERP system. Through collaboration with internal users, department leads, and other third party developers; design and develop solutions to improve and automate business processes. This individual will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate, verify, communicate, and resolve systems/software application issues and needs in order to maximize the benefit of IT investments and initiatives.

  • What You'll Be Doing:

    • Reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business system and user’s needs.
    • Assisting in the design, delivery, improvement, and training of in-house software applications.
    • Assisting with design and development of custom applications to integrate ERP and production machining software systems.
    • Developing, implementing, and maintaining (incl. test and documentation): Business system databases, including Microsoft Access, MySQL, Oracle SQL and Microsoft SQL Server;Web-based applications.
    • Creating applications and modules to automate manual processes.
    • Designing and developing automation to integrate electronic catalog and order entry applications.
    • Building rapport and eliciting problem details from internal customers.
    • Evaluating information gathered from multiple sources and distinguishing user requests from the underlying true needs.
    • Engaging in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
    • Collaborating with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
    • Acting as the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.
    • Coordinating with department heads to assess departmental application training needs and objectives.
    • Prioritizing, scheduling, and administering all instances where enhancements and defect resolution are required.
    • Testing fixes and performing post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved

  • What Would Make You a Great Fit:

    • Strong analytical and project management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
    • Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
    • Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office products.
    • Technically fluent in programming languages, including, but not limited to Python, Visual Basic, SQL, XML, HTML, .NET.
    • Demonstrated knowledge with relational database systems, networking, and Internet technologies as it pertains to an application in production.
    • Strong understanding of principles, theories, practices, and techniques for managing activities involved in planning, managing, and resolving customer problems.
    • Systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach.
    • Solid problem-solving and issue resolution skills.
    • Able to develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end user procedures.
    • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, handle interruptions but maintain flexibility with attention to detail.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form and interact with diverse personalities.
    • Flexibility to work beyond the typical work day as required; evenings, weekends, etc.
    • Highly self-motivated and directed.
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
    • Ability to conduct research into software development and delivery concepts, as well as technical application issues.
    • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
    • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
    • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering, and/or 5 years equivalent work experience.
