Human Resources Generalist

Summary:
Assist with the day to day operations of the Human Resource Department functions and duties. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in assisting with hiring team members, orientation of new hires, benefit administration, payroll processing, and department policy. The HR Generalist will also assist company team leaders with human resource issues as they arise.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process payroll & perform related duties regarding team members' time & attendance/ recordkeeping in payroll system - ADP
- Enroll team members in all benefits; health insurance, dental, life, health savings account, 401K
- Track & contact team leaders regarding 3 and 6 month team member reviews
- Maintain records in benefit systems regarding team member changes
- Review and pay all insurance bills
- schedule enrollment meetings for team members for health care, 401k, supplemental insurance and input enrollment changes
- Process and distribute labor reports to team leaders as assigned
- Maintain team members' files
- File team members' papers in a timely fashion
- Assist in management of Federal Motor Carrier regulations and standards for all drivers
- Meet with team members upon termination and process paperwork related to termination
- Keep new hire packet information up to date and make up new hire packets for orientation as needed
- Orientation of newly hired team members as needed
- Other duties as assigned by Human Resources Team Leader/ General Manager
Secondary Responsibilities
- Attend webinar and seminars as it relates to the Human Resource Department changes
- Back up to phone center and receptionist
- Provide team member information to Orientation and Safety Coordinator as to assist with worker's compensation issues and reporting
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to prioritize projects and work independently to meet deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to be organized and detail oriented
- Experience in Microsoft Office software and general computer skills
- Ability to adhere to company's confidentiality policy regarding company & employee private data
- Knowledge of basic office equipment; i.e. copy machine, fax machine, phone systems
Credentials and Experience:
- High School Diploma
- Certificate or license from vocational or trade school recommended
- 2+ years' experience working in an office setting recommended
