Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator

Summary:
Assist in day to day facilitation of safety, work comp, and environmental safety related issues and record keeping. Facilitate training and orientation of new employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, rules, and regulations as it pertains to health and safety.
- Create and facilitate training based on industry standards and best practices
- Maintain and facilitate new team member orientation
- Maintain team member files and paperwork as it relates to safety (testing, training, work comp, etc.)
- Maintain safety policies and procedures and update team members as required by law
- First report of injury documentation
- Report work comp and work related information as needed
- Coordinate and attend safety meetings
- Prepare and schedule training for emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics
- Maintain OSHA record keeping
- Collect and maintain records of discharge of or team member exposure to hazardous waste and or pollutants, as required.
- Review, maintain and update Safety Data Sheets to ensure accuracy and availability for all team members
- Attend continuing education classes as it relates to safety and policy changes and requirements
- Assist in setting up orientation and safety requirements for new team members
- Tours of facility for new team members
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excel (spread sheets & graphs)
- Skills to use computer and various software packages
- ability to establish priorities and work independently
- Organizational Skills
- Good Communication Skills
Credentials and Experience:
- High School Diploma
- Post-Secondary education
- Continuing education as it relates training and communication
