Who is Bayer Built? Cory VanBeck

Behind every product that leaves our facility are many busy hands and machines.  While we wouldn’t diminish the importance of well-oiled equipment, our people make us who we are.   There are so many good people at Bayer Built and we have many to celebrate but this week we’d like you to meet Cory VanBeck.  He is the Team Leader of our Commercial production crew and in eighteen years of knowing him, I’m certain I have yet to see him without a smile on his face!

BBW:  How long have you been a member of the Bayer Built team?

CVB:  18 years in a few weeks.

BBW:  What is your greatest responsibility in your daily activities at Bayer Built?

CVB:  Making sure Commercial Doors are machined accurately and engaging my team to be the best they can be.

BBW:  Whom do you laugh with most often at Bayer Built?

CVB: My fellow team members in Commercial

BBW:  What is your favorite memory while working at Bayer Built?

CVB:  Going on a snowmobiling trip to Yellowstone with Woodgrain.

BBW:  When the weekend arrives, what do you most look forward to doing in the summer and/or winter?

CVB:  Coaching my two boys in baseball for the Elrosa Saints.

BBW:  Describe yourself in five words or less!

CVB:  Hard working, motivated and friendly.

BBW:  If you could travel anywhere in the world for free, where would it be and why?

CVB: Mexico in January and February.  Nothing better than breaking up the cold Minnesota winter!

BBW:  If you won the lottery, what would be the first purchase you would make over $ 10,000?

CVB:  I’d invest in land, preferably in Iowa so I could hunt Whitetails.

BBW:  If you could only watch one movie for the rest of your life, what would it be?

CVB:  Dances with Wolves.

BBW:  If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it consist of?

CVB: Steak, garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables from Granite City Brewery.

BBW:  What was the last live concert you attended?

CVB: Gretchen Wilson/ Big & Rich

BBW:  When you were about ten years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?

CVB:  A taxidermist.

BBW:  Do you have any advice for future Bayer Built employees?

CVB: Work hard and be motivated.
