Daily grind and polar vortex? Not today!

Does the daily grind have you stuck in an all-too-familiar loop; one day blending into the next?  We may have that in common.  Yesterday’s schedule included stops in Mankato, Mendota Heights, Edina, back to Minnetonka and then over to Roseville.  Lately, more time is spent in the car than at home; with or without a polar vortex and 42” snow drifts.

When I finally walk in the door I’m greeted by bags of sports equipment, the mail, a laundry basket and forgotten Lego inventions.  The dog looks at me with wonder.  As if to say, “you’re home?”

When every 15-minute increment of our day is filled up, there isn’t much room for anything new to get inside.  This is problematic on many levels.  It can create stress, impatience and worst of all, apathy.  Without a few open moments to breathe or look around, the world becomes a very small, congested space.  And at this time of year, it makes spring seem as though it’s still half a year away.

Not this week; this week can be different!  Each year at this time, the Minneapolis Home & Garden Show takes place at the Convention Center.  My favorite part of the show?  The opportunity to see living, breathing, gardens full of flowers and fresh blooms.  With one whiff of soil and hyacinths, the world appears to be a brighter place.  Spring seems a possibility.

As you read this, thousands of exhibitors and sponsors are lined up and ready to inspire you with fresh ideas for your home and garden.  Finishes for the outside and inside, solutions for every room of the house and most importantly a look at what is to come in 2014.

Take a break, buy a ticket and visit us at booth #3337.  We’re looking forward to seeing you and showing you all that there is to look forward to this year!
