Company History

Bayer Built Woodworks, Inc. was founded in 1983 by brothers Mike and Brian Bayer of Belgrade, Minnesota. They listened to their customers and reacted to their requests by building and delivering "prehung to order" on a next day basis. This niche market remains a stronghold of the company's business today.

While initial offerings centered on the prehung interior door business, other building products were added to the lineup, including wood moldings, stair parts, exterior doors, architectural columns and shelving systems.

In 1987 a third brother, Joe Bayer, joined the company as sales and marketing efforts were expanding. The previous year had seen business top one million dollars in sales! The family's multi-generational trucking business was in use as the delivery mechanism to ensure quick delivery to lumberyards and building product retailers in the 6-state delivery area.

Today Bayer Built employs about 250 team members and averages a 12-15 percent sales volume increase annually.
